This time of year is very busy out at the barn! I hope you enjoy the pictures of the "Farm Goodness" that has happened over the past couple weeks!
1.) Sheep Shearing
In the middle of February, every year before the ewes (female sheep) have their lambs, they get completely sheared. Here is a picture of our shearer in action!
2.) Fleeces
As soon as the wool is taken off the sheep it is "skirted".(Which means you simply look at the wool and pick out any unwanted matter.)

This is York's wool!
One of the very special times here at Windsor Wool is when our ewes have lambs! Yesterday morning at 3am, all creatures were out at the barn to meet the new arrival, Rosa! This was her mother's (Matilda) first having a lamb so Matilda was a little scared of Rosa. Just to make sure this sweet little girl would get plenty of nutrition, we had to hold Matilda while Rosa nursed. As of now, Matilda is getting used to her and things seem to be going great!

Uncle Louie loves any animal he comes across! He got a chance to meet her and they both really liked each other!
York is a very proud father!
I have several other things to write about and pictures to share but I think this is enough for now!
